The noise of a big city, the invasion of other people’s sounds is the misfortune of modern civilization, which we are offered to escape from using tightly closed windows and doors. But the doors are locked, the windows too, and it seems that extraneous sounds have been successfully eliminated, and for some reason the apartment has a feeling of discomfort and echoes of the voices of relatives. In such situations, modern finishing materials come to the rescue.
The main and largest in area reflector of shock, air noise and all kinds of vibrations in any room is, of course, the floor and the ceiling, and then the walls. Therefore, in rooms that require additional sound absorption and acoustic equalization, surface finishing with perforated plates, for example, KNAUF-Acoustics, becomes the optimal solution. These rectangular plasterboard sheets with a thickness of 12.5 mm solve the problem of the interior – they make the acoustic environment more comfortable for all the inhabitants of a room, apartment or private house.
Acoustic sheets are available with different types of perforation: round, square or scattered. The perforation pattern can be located along the entire plate or grouped in blocks. A sound-absorbing layer of non-woven fabric of white or black color is glued to the back side.
Perforation works as a diffuser and diffuser, gently absorbing sound waves. As a result, the echo effect disappears, speech intelligibility increases, unnecessary noise disappears, preventing us from fully understanding information and relaxing.
Perforated sound-absorbing panels are a great idea for full wall and ceiling cladding, especially for music lovers. This solution will ensure the purity of sound in the room where the music sounds. Also, such a cladding in the living room (especially with a home theater) will not harm. Residents of apartment buildings are often interested in good sound absorption in the bedroom corridors and children’s rooms.
And, of course, KNAUF-Acoustics sheets are indispensable for the decoration of movie theaters, museums, theater rooms, classrooms in universities and schools, in all places where the most stringent requirements are applied to the quality of acoustics.
By combining acoustic sheets with gypsum plaster sheets, different types of perforation, you can interestingly beat the design of the room, add a kind of plasterboard mosaic. Since the sheets, basically, contain a gypsum core, give the walls and ceiling different lines and shapes using the plasticity of drywall.
Each resident of an apartment building has another acute question open – poor sound insulation. And here a perforated sheet can also be useful. But then the walls of the apartments are first lined with a standard GKL sheet (by the way, the properties of gypsum are themselves high due to the ratio between the mass and stiffness of the material), then the sheets of drywall are covered with mineral wool, and the “sandwich” completes the acoustic sheet on top. In this combination, you can achieve the effect of soundproofing from neighbors and acoustic comfort indoors.
Well, one can only imagine how many architectural solutions for creating interiors can be realized with the help of material intended “only” to increase the acoustic comfort of the rooms.
